Ticketswap: Reimagining Raffles Through Loyalty and Community

Ticketswap is one of the largest ticket resale platforms in the Netherlands, and is considered as the go to app to get a ticket for your favorite festival, concert, and more. One of their recurring feature has been raffles, which is normally introduced for very high demand events. However, many users are unhappy with the feature which led me to develop a 1 - week challenge to assess what change or improvement in the product design can be done that can improve user satisfaction while meeting Ticketswap's initiatives.

Problem

TicketSwap’s raffle system for high-demand tickets is used to ensure a fair distribution when demand exceeds supply. While the system ensures fairness, it’s often criticized for its lack of transparency and unclear process, leading to frustration among users (including myself).

Recognizing this challenge, I saw this as an opportunity to rethink how I could help elevate the raffles system to offer better and transparent chances of winning a ticket while also meeting ticketswap's initiative

Research

As the time line of this project was quite short, the best methods for research seemed to be through an analysis of approximately 50 recent user reviews on the Appstore, as well as a competitor analysis.

"App is good but can those raffles please stop. Normally I can always fix tickets, but with those raffles you just have so little chance."

"The idea of going to a festival is to relax and de-stress and now every time a lottery notification and waiting are worthless."

Prototype

The prototype was created through a recreation of the components as there was no access to the original design system. However, elements were incorporated in a way that is cohesive and not disruptive to original app design.
